In Joshua 24:14 the Lord tells the Israelites to destroy all of their manmade idols and serve the Lord wholeheartedly. Nowadays, we may not have physical totems and manmade statues that we worship, but we have other things that we have made our Gods.

There are those of us who have made money our God. Maybe wrong priorities or our children or our jobs or a boyfriend or husband. No one should come before God because without God we would have none of these things. If God didn't wake you up each morning, you would not be able to enjoy anything. Make sure that you have made God number one in your life. Do not just hide the fact that these are the things that you serve, you must remove them completely. Remember, the Lord sees all and knows all. You cannot fool Him. He knows the desires of your heart.

If He is the one who can give you the desires of your heart, don't you think that He would know what drives you and who or what you are living and breathing for. Put God first. Appreciate His blessings. Get rid of those insignificant things that do not matter, because after all is said and done, God is the only one who can give you what you need when you really need it. He can see what you will need before you realize that you need it. Remember that. Be blessed!
