So much has happened in these last few weeks. I got baptized on September 28, 2014 and it was absolutely amazing. I gave my life to Christ last year and although I had already been baptized with the Holy Spirit, I knew th at I had to be baptized in water as well just like Jesus was. I said the whole objective of being a Christian is to be like our Lord and savior Jesus Christ so if He did, I most certainly wanted to do it to. It was an amazing experience. I found a great church in my town, I invited my family and my friends and it was just awesome. I got so much love and support from my online Facebook family and so many well wishes and congratulatory thoughts. I think by the time all was said and done, I had over 600 likes and close to 200 comments on my post.

I know that I have been MIA, but I was finishing up school and I don’t know if I mentioned earlier, I started a new position at my job. I have been just getting into my new routine and settling into my new job and so I have not had the chance to post at all. I have been using my time to get closer to Christ though. I notice that when I am super busy with this and that and daily tasks begin to take up so much of my time and I am not in the Word like I should be, that gives room for the enemy to slip in and cause chaos. I was attacked severely spiritually within the last two weeks and it was a horrible experience. It was so bad that I felt as though I was having a nervous breakdown for real. I allowed the enemy to convince me of something different than what God had shown me and I lost my faith for a bit. I was so hurt and upset that I just started wondering what living for God was all for.

Sometimes as a Christian, you get fed up and you get tired of letting people walk all over you and forgiving people for the same things over and over again. Ephesians 5: 1-2 says, “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Sometimes this is easier said than done. The enemy will use those who we love and trust to hurt us so that we will turn away from God. That is why we are to love God first above all else and put Him first and finally fled from Jesus for a little while because you know, mama (aka Satan) is messy and loves drama, chaos and anything evil that will take our minds off God and doing right.

There are a number of Bible verses that you can memorize that will give you strength in tough times when the enemy pounces on you and tries to break you. I have included a few of my favorites. When you know that you are under spiritual attack and you feel weak speak these verses out loud and with conviction. The enemy will surely flee!

Bible Verses to Fight the Enemy Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me. Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 20:4 For the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.’ Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. Isaiah 40:31 But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Psalm 31:24 Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord! Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Since giving over my life to the Lord, I have lost many people who I considered friends at one time or another. I distanced myself from some of them on my own, and others turned away on their own just
