Since giving over my life to the Lord, I have lost many people who I considered friends at one time or another. I distanced myself from some of them on my own, and others turned away on their own just because. I have been living for the Lord for a little over four years now and what I have learned is that the walk with God is not a walk that everyone will be open to take with you. Yes, those around you will see the fruit of your relationship with God and yes, they want the fruit, but they don’t want to do the planting and the care that goes along with it. The Christian walk is not an easy walk by any means. There are times when I stumble. There are times when I have behaved in a way that the Holy Spirit grieves and convicts me so strongly that I feel physically ill. But I correct myself, I apologize, repent and a move on.

When the Lord brought the idea of this ministry to me, I will be honest and let you know that I was nervous. I am not an outgoing person by nature. I mean, I am fine around my family and close friends, but I prefer to stay to myself. I will talk if you talk to me, but I have never been the one to always want to be in the spotlight and be the life of the party. Well of course, my God knows all of this, and He is preparing me and providing me with all of the tools necessary to do what He has for me to do. I walk with Him and I let Him order my steps.

I can honestly say with God in my corner, I have never felt more love and support in my whole entire life. He is a constant stay and I am so forever grateful for it. In Romans 8:31 it says, “If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” Well, let me tell you something, they will be against you, but they won’t be successful. This is what this scripture is saying. We will have heartache and losses and terrible things may happen, but our Lord God never leaves our side.

As I am growing older, I find myself thinking of people and their souls. Where will they go when they leave this earth. When people pass on, the first thing I find myself saying is, “I hope they had a chance to give their life to the Lord.” With everything going on in this world and with social media at the forefront, we are really getting a chance to see how bad this world can truly be. The enemy is on his game and he continues to play to win although he has already been defeated. Shouldn't we be doing the same thing? Shoudn't we play to win every single day and be the best representation of Jesus Christ that we can be? Well, how do we do that? What can we do?

Continue to put God above all else. Read His living word and meditate on it. Grow closer to Him. Talk to Him throughout your day. Consult with Him before you make a move. If you thought Tom Hagen was a great consigliere in the Godfather trilogy, just know, he ain’t got nothing on our Heavenly, Awesome, Mighty Father! Amen! God is the ultimate advisor, counselor, rock, anchor, everything. He is just amazing! I love Him so!

So, when you are feeling alone and it feels like you are losing friends and you are by yourself way more than you ever were, know that you are not alone. Sometimes God will separate you from everyone and everything because He wants you to talk to Him. So stop texting and calling and wondering why they won’t pick up pick up the phone for God. Text God back. Slide into His dms as the young kids say. He would love nothing more.

Blessings and Love,

Last week, I was watching a brand new show that has only been on for a few weeks called 9-1-1. It's a scripted show that follows a group of 911 rescuers and a 911 operator who takes the calls. In the
